Mumbai rush-hour filmed on iPhone 7+, Osmo Mobile and Filmic Pro

This short report by Thomas Gerbet from Radio-Canada Info (in French) was shot with an iPhone 7 Plus and a DJI Osmo Mobile. “This is the rush-hour nightmare in Mumbai” shows how phones can enable journalists to travel light in difficult situations. I think this would have been pretty much impossible to shoot with a full sized video camera. They would certainly have attracted a lot more attention. Note how they shot lots of ‘B-roll’ and unusual angles/closeups to use as cutaways for the presentations to camera and the interviews. They used Filmic Pro rather than the built-in Camera app: its big advantage on the iPhone 7 Plus is that it lets you choose when to use the telephoto lens. (The built-in app selects the lens automatically).
